Get FREE Kindle Books Every Day!

I have a new favorite site, Ereader News Today (Tips, Tricks, And Free Ebooks For Your Kindle). In addition to having Kindle info, the site features a bunch of FREE ebooks every day! I'm talking 20-30 - and not the out-of-copyright classics either, but contemporary fiction and non-fiction. In the past 10 days, I've downloaded over three dozen books. Hmm. If I thought I didn't have enough reading time before...

Anyway, like I said, I've downloaded over three dozen books. Of course, I haven't read them all yet. And (fortunately) I'm becoming more selective now that the novelty of the site has dimmed a bit. So what have I gotten so far? Well, I won't bore you with a complete list but here's a sampling:
  • The Accidental Hero and The Accidental Existentialist (both by Joshua Graham)
  • Whiskey Rebellion
  • Death On A High Floor: A Legal Thriller
  • The Chronicles of Marr-nia (Short Stories Starring Barbara Marr)
  • The Secret to Happiness (Hugo the Happy Starfish) (illustrated kids' book to read to my little man)
  • Circles
  • Grandma's Best Muffin Recipes (and three other cookbooks)
And I could go on and on...

A few years ago, I decided that I would no longer finish books that didn't grab me by the end of the first chapter beings there's no possible way to read everything there is to read so why waste any of my precious reading time? Well, I temporarily fell off the wagon on the first few downloads but am now re-committed. So, although I'm downloading whatever looks good, I'm being selective about what I actually finish reading.

And how do I read these books beings I don't have a Kindle? First off, I downloaded the Kindle for PC to my computer. That worked fine but not for reading in bed so I also installed the free Kindle app on my Cruz Reader. So grab yourself a reading app for your PC, smart phone or whatever (and I even figured out how to put a banner link for your convenience!) and start enjoying some FREE Kindle books.

Grow Herbs and More in a Hanging Shoe Organizer

Tight on gardening space? Want to garden without stooping or kneeling? Well, do I have a cool tip for you! How about planting herbs or strawberries or ??? in the pockets of a hanging shoe organizer? Yes, a shoe organizer! You know, that forgotten over-the-door or closet rod thing holding a few stray craft supplies?

Giving credit where credit is due, no, of course I didn't think of this. In fact, I don't even garden. I saw a post by my cousin, Debra, on facebook and followed the link and ended up at Vertical Vegetables on Instructables. So thanks Debra and thanks Pippa5 (the author) for sharing such a great idea!

I've included an Amazon link (it's the picture) to what I'm talking about. But I'd be looking around the house, asking friends and family or checking the thrift store. Until this idea catches on, there are likely a LOT of these shoe holders waiting to find new homes.

Goodie Bags for Your Next Birthday Party

Cute light up caterpillar
party favor from GoGo Goodie.
I just had to share about GoGo Goodie, a company dedicated to making your next party a smashing success! I found out about GoGo Goodie from Prerna over at The Mom Writes, where there is currently a giveaway happening through the end of March. So head on over there and enter.

But back to GoGo Goodie - here's what I like about them:
  • Easy-to-navigate website
  • Nice selection of party favors
  • Reasonable prices
  • Simple shipping policy

So if you have a party coming up for which you need favors, check out GoGo Goodie to find a great selection of individual favors, build custom goodie bags or order pre-made goodie bags. Oh! And they also have a bunch of articles on their blog to give you cool party tips and fun game ideas.

NOTE: I have no affiliation with GoGo Goodies. In fact, I just found out about them today. But I did enter the contest over at The Mom Writes and sure hope I win!

Enjoy Outlaw Heroes Free March 14th-16th!

Cover by Tugboat Design.
Outlaw Heroes is a fun adventure story by my new favorite author, Deanna Lynn Sletten. Although Deanna wrote Outlaw Heroes for kids age 10 and up, it's an enjoyable read for adults, too. And you can get it FREE on your Kindle March 14th-16th!

If you don't have a Kindle, just get the free Kindle for PC and you can read it (and other Kindle books) right on your computer. I have a Cruz Reader that I LOVE but finally installed Kindle for PC on my computer, as well, because I find there are often books for free on Amazon that cost elsewhere.

Anyway, check out Outlaw Heroes. And be sure to leave a review on Amazon after you finish reading it.

Also, if you haven't already, you should also get Deanna's recent romance/drama, Memories.

Clever Dual-Duty Tissue Box Cover

Clever tissue box cover from HapiStitcher.
Now isn't this clever? A double-decker tissue box cover with new tissues on top and space for used tissues in the bottom. How neat and discreet!

Called Hankie Pankie Two, this tissue box cover provides "a better way to dispose of used tissues during cold and allergy season" and is available at HapiStitcher, a recently opened Etsy shop.

In addition to this style, there is also the original Hankie Pankie design and both are available in colors and prints to match any decor.

FYI: Mother's Day is only two months away - for less than $10 including shipping, wouldn't this be a nice (and affordable) gift?

HapiStitcher also has several other cute items listed with more coming soon. In fact, I'm anxiously awaiting the ereader covers made from REAL hardback books. How do I know all this? Well, because HapiStitcher is my mom. So go check out her Etsy shop, ok?
